Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

ROAM Intelligence provides data and analysis related to religious persecution worldwide. Our platform is designed to support awareness, advocacy, security planning, and humanitarian response. This policy exists to ensure the platform is used responsibly and ethically, in alignment with its mission to protect vulnerable communities.

2. Permitted Uses

You may use ROAM Intelligence for:

• Monitoring and awareness of persecution-related events and trends
• Security planning and risk assessment for organizations, churches, missionaries, and travelers
• Advocacy, policy research, and humanitarian response
• Academic research and educational purposes
• Journalism and media reporting with appropriate attribution
• Internal organizational briefings and intelligence sharing
• Integration with your own systems via the API within your subscription tier's limits

3. Prohibited Uses

You may not use ROAM Intelligence or its data for any of the following:

Harmful or Malicious Activity

• Targeting, harassing, surveilling, or endangering individuals or groups based on their religion, ethnicity, nationality, or any other characteristic
• Sharing data with state actors, militias, or other parties that may use it to locate, persecute, or harm religious communities or individuals
• Planning, facilitating, or supporting violence, terrorism, or any illegal activity
• Doxxing, stalking, or publicizing the private locations of vulnerable individuals or communities

Data Misuse

• Scraping, crawling, or bulk downloading data from the platform outside the authorized API
• Redistributing raw platform data or creating derivative databases for commercial sale without authorization
• Removing attribution, copyright notices, or other proprietary markings from our data or reports
• Using data to build a competing product or service
• Misrepresenting ROAM Intelligence data as your own original research or analysis

Platform Abuse

• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts, data, or administrative features
• Overwhelming the platform with excessive requests, denial-of-service attacks, or other disruptive behavior
• Exploiting vulnerabilities in the platform without responsible disclosure
• Sharing account credentials or API keys with unauthorized parties
• Circumventing rate limits, access controls, or subscription restrictions
• Using the platform to distribute spam, malware, or phishing content

Community Misconduct

• Posting hate speech, threats, or abusive content in community chat or messaging features
• Impersonating other users, organizations, or ROAM Intelligence staff
• Sharing graphic, violent, or exploitative content in community spaces
• Deliberately submitting false incident reports or misleading data

4. API-Specific Rules

If you access ROAM Intelligence data through our API, you must additionally:

• Comply with the rate limits and usage quotas of your subscription tier
• Implement appropriate caching to avoid unnecessary API calls
• Secure your API keys and rotate them if compromised
• Include "ROAM Intelligence" attribution when displaying our data to end users
• Not use the API for real-time data mirroring or automated redistribution

5. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this policy, please report it to abuse@roamintelligence.com. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

6. Enforcement

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against violations of this policy, including:

• Issuing warnings
• Temporarily suspending access
• Permanently terminating accounts
• Revoking API keys
• Reporting illegal activity to law enforcement

Enforcement decisions are made at our sole discretion. We may take action without prior notice if we believe there is an imminent risk of harm.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or by email. Continued use of ROAM Intelligence after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
